Parents and Babies

At Bodywise, three of our practitioners have a special interest in issues related to reproductive health:

Fertility

Shuddhabha (Shiatsu) and Tejapushpa (Acupuncture) treat women and men who want to increase their fertility. Both practitioners have experience of working with clients who are having difficulty conceiving, are undergoing IVF treatment or who have miscarried.

Pregnancy

Lucy (Alexander Technique Teacher) works throughout pregnancy, childbirth and beyond, coaching women to use their bodies appropriately and encourage optimal fetal positioning. She runs workshops and teaches one-to-one sessions.

Shuddhabha and Tejapushpa focus on individual clients, helping them through any conditions related to the pregnancy, such as morning sickness, indigestion, odema, irregular bleeding, back and abdominal pain and fetal positioning.

Shuddhabha and Lucy also run individual sessions for women and their birth partners to help them with appropriate hands-on support during the birth.

All three practitioners are available to assist at the birth of your baby, should you want this type of support and whether you choose a home or hospital birth.

We also work with women in the postnatal period, helping your body to recover and return to optimal health.

Babies

Being born can be a difficult process for some babies. Shuddhabha treats babies in the first weeks after birth, helping them with body realignment and conditions such as colic.

She also teaches parents how to recognise the physical pattern their baby is displaying and use massage techniques that are particularly suited to their baby.
