Hakomi Somatic Self-study Group
facilitated by Alastair Stewart MBACP
every Monday evening 6.30-8.30pm
in the Bodywise studio
Hakomi is one of, if not the first somatic therapy using embodied awareness to study our relational experience. It allows us to foster a deeper, more examined intuition on how we meet life. It literally means “how do you stand in these many realms” and is an Archaic Hopi Nation term.
Self-study groups are an opportunity to connect in a gentle way to what arises (somatically) as we meet the world. Through elegantly developed practices, we participate in slowing down what we habitually do. As we slow down with awareness we start to uncover the patterns that have shaped our experience of the world.
Practices have been developed to raise that awareness relationally. In non-intrusive spacious ways we participate in creating a safe community to slow down and develop greater self-knowledge.
The meetings will be on Monday evenings from 6.30 to 8.30 at Bodywise in the yoga studio. There will be a tea break. The idea is to develop a regular group where participants can develop a sense of mutual trust in the group space. A sense of commitment and consistency are going to be qualities needed if this group is something you want to benefit from.
Price for each session £20
