I have been practicing since qualifying in 1999 and I have worked as a Reflexologist in a variety of settings including a drop-in centre for homeless people at Salford Cathedral, The Y Club, United Utilities, Eclipse (for young people recovering from substance misuse) and Bodywise.
I also work as a Mobile Reflexologist coming to your home or to workshops and events.
I trained as a Reflexologist after experiencing the grounding and healing it brings for myself. I witness how deeply relaxing it is for clients and some say they have never experienced feeling so relaxed. This is because Reflexology helps to turn off the body’s stress response (of the sympathetic nervous system) and activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which stimulates healing and renewal of the body.
Reflexology has been shown to be effective for:
• Sleep disorders
• Digestive problems
• Hormonal imbalances
• Stress related conditions
• And many other conditions
The treatment session is for an hour. You will lie on a massage bed or a reclining chair. I offer relaxing music and a blanket. I will then massage your feet applying pressure to reflex points on the feet and ankles. These reflex points correspond to organs and systems in the body. Areas of congestion found in the feet correspond to that area in the body. Working on these points can effect change in the corresponding organ or system in the body. By working the feet in this way balance and healing is restored to the mind and body and for many it is deeply relaxing.
To gain the most from Reflexology a course of 6 to 8 weekly treatments is advised.
